Flower Crown Workshop

On June 26th I teamed up with Christine from Revelstoke Florist to host an intimate Flower Crown Workshop which was complimented by a mini photoshoot.  Participants were taught how to select complimentary flowers, twist them into an artistic expression, and affix them into a crown. Five participants came together to express themselves and have fun playing along the banks of the Columbia River, the lighting that day was perfect for capturing magical moments; sun beams filtered through the summer sky and the air was filled with laughter.

The fresh flower halo has been a popular accessory all over the world for centuries and it's steeped in tradition and meaning.  Flower crowns have been a symbol of love, peace, femininity and celebration throughout history and across many cultures. A popular choice for brides on their wedding days due to their ability to represent personal style, flower crowns can be as simple or extravagant as you choose.  Also one of my favourite things to shoot. Little Scarlet insisted to take a few photos of me when we got home. I am always mind blown by her photography talents as she is just seven years old!

Stay tuned for updates on our next workshop.
